Mindful Tools for Tweens & Teens workshops allow young people the opportunity to de-stress from school and social pressures, while learning fun, accessible mindfulness practices that support their wellbeing and resilience.
Yoga and mindfulness offer valuable and positive life skills to help adolescents navigate turbulent emotions, and the very real, very stressful challenges they face in our current times.
In a welcoming, non-judgmental, safe space, we'll focus on a variety of tools (that participants can integrate into their everyday life), including:
Healthy, fun yoga postures and mindful movement that allow students to explore their embodied experience without judgement
Breathing and relaxation techniques to enhance focus and calm their nervous system
Mindful qualities like kindness, gratitude and compassion
Practices to recognize and regulate strong emotions
Mindful speech that allows tweens and teens to safely voice their emotions and stres
How to recognize stressful triggers and find the "pause button" before reacting
Sessions always close with a circle discussion, allowing young people the opportunity to express themselves in healthy ways in a supportive community of their peers.
Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing to move they can have fun in.
